A Global Positioning Jacket

Admit it: you’ve been just a little lost before and may have run into a curb, post or some other obstacle because you were looking down at your phone instead of paying attention to where you were walking. If you have, a company called Wearable Experiments might have come up with your next big thing.

It’s a cute jacket — one for men, one for women — that has sensors that will vibrate and light up to tell you which way to go, so no more looking down at your phone and missing the world as you walk right by it. Like a lot of NBTs, this one works using an app. You program your destination into the app and off you go, with your jacket GPS to guide you. There’s even a sleeve “countdown” that will tell you how much further you have to go before a turn.

So what do you think? Would you like to wear your GPS? Vote in the poll and tell us what you think!

I dont think this is the next big thing because we all should know where we keep our clothes plus, we can always buy new clothes.

I don’t think this is the next big thing because we can always use our navigation on our phones or use maps instead of this jacket so no jacket for me.

that was the idea- so you don’t have to look down and run into things while walking. but I agree, it’s not exactly the next big thing.

They don’t come in different colors, so there is limited fashion coordination. It seems bulky. And needing to be charged every day seems inconvenient. Oh, and does it work in the car? And in the rain? Could this be available in a raincoat form?

I found a similar version of these in my mom’s room, but it was a pants version. They give me a directional erection.

I don’t think it’s the next big thing, I personally think it’s easier to use my phone. Because the jacket isn’t even my style. It’s just ugly nonfabulous.

I think that it’s going to be one of those things that seem cool for a while, but then it’s going to die away. It seems like a good idea, but there are going to be a lot of glitchs that they will need to figure out and fix.

We think that this could be a safety hazard. What if it rains? What if the shoulder vibrations causes muscle discomfort? What if it is hot outside? Who wants to wear a jacket?! What is the difference between staring at a phone and staring at your jacket sleeve? We are impatient people and you look weird staring at a jacket. Especially when you run into people or poles because you were looking at your jacket. It is a cool idea, but not the next big thing.

I think it is the next big thing, it will be very useful for new people in town. I also think they should come in different colors, it would be pretty boring when everyone in the future is wearing the same coat. The jacket seems like a great idea, but something else can replace it (a better jacket).

i personally think this is the next big thing. If someone had a lung disability and had to wheel around an oxygen cart, it would be quit difficult to wheel the oxygen cart around in one hand and navigate with the other

I don’t think this is a good idea. Honestly, who walks around without knowing were there going at all. Its just not realistic that someone would need this.

I think its the next big thing because some people are new in town and don’t know where they r going because they don’t know the streets that good.

sounds really cool but I dont think it would work! People now are to stuck to their phone and some people might want to be able to look at their phone and know the are going the right way. Plus the migh hin they feel the censors ut the really arent!

It sounds like a good idea, but people are to stuck on thier phones these days! Plus some people might want to be abe to actually know the are going the right way. Also people may feel the jacket rub on their shoulder and think it is telling them to turn but it isn’t and turn anyways! Good idea though if it works well!

The idea is ok but with hackers these days someone could hack into your phone and lure you towards them.

This idea seems good but not really selling material. its to simple. Anyway people are already stuck to their phones to much why make them be stuck to it more. If people are running into poles because their looking in their phone then they need to put their phone away and look around.I just really dont like this idea it sounds like someone just made this up in 1 minute

I don’t think this is the next big thing, because society today knows where to go. Ether we had a gps or we have been there already multiple times.
Ex: I got a new job at a factory. I don’t have a car so I have to walk there. I look up the directions and print them. It takes a little while, but I still get there. After a week of doing this I know my directions and I can just walk with the knowledge in my head.

this is a great idea but when something newer comes everyone will want that and the GPS jacket will be out the door and be almost forgotten

I don’t think its the Next Big Thing. I mean, have the people of the United States become so obsessed with their phones that they can’t look where they’re going? Maybe we shouldn’t be on our phones 24/7.

I think this is the next big thing because you don’t have to look at your phone all the time when you are walking. It will save your life because if you look at your GPS on your phone all day you might get ran over by a car from not paying attention to where you are going.

I don’t think this is the next big thing because you don’t have to use a GPS for everything and you should pay attention to life, life doesn’t happen on a screen!
