Cory Lamb

Cory Lamb has been singing his whole life, but he didn’t get his break until an application for an internship took an unexpected turn.

“I wasn’t sure how to be an artist,” he explained in a phone interview. “So I had decided to try to be involved in art but in a more stable way.” He applied for an internship at a recording studio, and to prove to his potential future boss he wasn’t completely tone-deaf, he sent him a recording of himself singing at his sister’s wedding — the song was a cover of “Butterfly Kisses.”

After hearing him sing, the producer decided he wanted to record an album with Lamb. So he moved to Los Angeles and took some classes and recorded. A couple of years later, with some recording and music experience under his belt, he realized he didn’t necessarily need to live in L.A. to be a musician, so he moved back home to Arkansas, where he’s now based.

His music is inspired by “what the world and our country is going through. We’ve been in a dark time for many people, with the economy and wars. I want to be a light, and bring a message of love and hope.” Which he does by constantly touring — the performances keep him on the road and away from home a lot, but, like many touring musicians, he believes “it’s a blessing to be able to do this.”

"Break the Cycle" Lyrics

Some people think that I have lost my appetite
I might still be hungry, for something right
Thank you for your consideration you don't know what I know
Me and my sense of direction is my own
Let's go tell the people we gotta break the cycle, I'll start, begin to do my part
To break the cycle oh oh we gotta break the cycle oh oh
Some people think that I got some
Inspiration, I'm not perfect or careless
If it makes it better
I have got no combination
To slow me down I found there is a reason for why I am around

Let's go tell the people we gotta break the cycle, I'll start, begin to do my part
To break the cycle
Let's show and open up our arms and tell the people we'll be the sounding the alarm to break the cycle
Lay down our guard it's a revolution lets be apart of the solution
Lets go tell the people we gotta break the cycle, I'll start, begin to do my part to break the cycle
Let's show and open up our arms and tell the people we’ll be the sounding the alarm to break the cycle
We gotta break the cycle
We gotta break the cycle

"Storm" Lyrics

A girl in a room
She's made a mistake
Another heartbeat keeps her awake
Everything's changed
No comfort in fear
She struggles for answers
Everything's unclear

Would you stand in these waters?
Tame the waves as they crash in
Would you calm this storm?
And soothe these nightmares once again
This is my prayer
As she looks to you for help
Would you calm this storm?

She's walking away
The heartbeat grows strong
She chooses a name and prays for her son
The wind blows strong
It's quiet and still
Love prevails
As it always will

Would you stand in these waters?
Stop these waves as they crash in
Would you calm this storm?
And soothe these nightmares once again
This is my prayer
As she looks to you for help
Would you calm this storm?
Would you calm this storm?

"Light" Lyrics

Days come, days go
We never notice what went by
We're in control
Until a tragedy arrives

It shakes you up
It wakes you up
From the night

There is a light
In the corners of your life
And it shines
Right before your eyes
In breakdowns
In dark skies
You will find
There is a light

Look up, reach out
It might seem far away from here
From underneath these heavy clouds
The smoke will clear

What haunts you now
What keeps you down,
Will all be lifted
Hold on and you'll see

There is a light
In the corners of your life
And it shines
Right before your eyes
In breakdowns
In dark skies
You will find
There is a light

To help you find your way back home
To get you through those times alone
You will always know...
There is a light

There is a light
In the corners of your life
And it shines
Right before your eyes
In breakdowns
In dark skies
You will find
There is a light
