Iris
The word "Iris" is Greek for "rainbow," representing the many different colored species of Irises. The flowers grow on many different continents, yet much of the flowers' meaning could be linked to depictions of the messenger god, Iris, in Greek mythology.
Iris was said to travel along rainbows bringing messages from the gods to the people, along with settling disputes. The flowers represent peace of mind, faith, hope, wisdom and friendship.
