Shia LaBeouf is back this week for more summer blockbuster action in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with the retro robots that swept theaters in 2007. Inspired by the 1984 animated series Transformers and the animated film Transformers: The Movie, the latest live-action films by director Michael Bay capture the sci-fi adventure of the originals, but add the more glamorous special effects of CGI.

This time around, LaBeouf's character, Sam Witwicky, and his girlfriend, Mikaela Banes, played by Megan Fox, are in a long distance relationship while Sam's in college and Mikaela is busy honing her skills as a mechanic on hot rods. Lucky for Sam, his dad's perfectly manicured backyard lawn will probably remain intact this time around, since the alien robots will be visiting Sam on campus.

We can only guess that the friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons are at it again, bringing their longtime, extraterrestrial feud to planet Earth, where Sam will probably have to interrupt his studies for the shape-shifting battles. However, we also hear that Sam will be taken prisoner and it's up to the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, to save him. The film is scheduled for release on June 24, in regular and IMAX theaters.
