Time is up!
The answer is “D.” An archipelago is a large group of islands.
And here in Florida, more than 1,700 islands make up the Florida Keys archipelago!
Just south of the Florida peninsula, this archipelago stretches over 200 miles south and west and divides the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico. Many of the 1,700 islands rise only a few feet above the seabed, but a few islands are large enough to support entire villages, like Key West and Key Largo.
Other famous archipelagos include the Hawaiian Islands, the Philippines, the Greek Isles and the Bahamas, to name a few.
