More Music

There are few who are unfamiliar with the mmm-pop band Hanson. Most recognize Isaac, Zac and Taylor and can recite the dozens of Hanson brother hits. But what does pop superstardom feel like to them? “We’re just a band surviving this crazy world called music,” said Isaac over the phone. “We stay the course.”

For these brothers, that course has mostly been up — and for their latest album, their direction is upbeat. When we asked Isaac about the new album, he said: “It’s one of the more upbeat records we’ve made in a long time — bringing back some of the early pop and R&B influences in a more obvious way.”

After developing their tour around charitable work for their previous album, The Walk, with a mile long walk to benefit HIV-infected mothers, Hanson has shifted their tone for their newest release in honor of their fans’ dedication to the cause. “We felt like subconsciously, we were very celebratory of our music over the last 10 years,” explained Isaac. “And, I need to say, we are very comfortable and happy with the idea of making an upbeat and optimistic record.”

Hanson has graced stages across the globe with their vocal and musical talents for over a decade, yet their music continues to grow and evolve, while maintaining their rock band infused with country style harmonies with a dash of R&B. “The nuts and bolts of what we do remains the same — we have always felt like we are going to write a strong chorus that sticks in your head.” He added, “We want to find a groove.”

For this band, finding a groove made them an icon for a couple generations of fans. “We just did an event where we played five consecutive albums over a week, one after the other and it was really fun to do. Although their were definitive differences, we started at a very young age and have continued to follow our passions in music.”

“Thinkin’ ‘Bout Somethin’”

"Thinkin' 'Bout Somethin'" Lyrics

Well I gave you love you know it, so when did you outgrow it
And decide that you would find another man, you’ve been out there shaking
The tail the boys are chasing, when you get home you think I’ll be the bigger man

I’ve been thinking 'bout somethin'
I’ve been thinking 'bout somethin' other than you

I ignored your reputation, 'cause you sent my heart racing
You think I will always be the fool, I've run out of patience for this, sticky situation
You won't find me crying that we're through

I've been thinking ‘bout somethin'
I’ve been thinking ‘bout somethin' other than you
It's sad to say, but baby everyday
I've been thinking ‘bout somethin'
I've been thinking ‘bout somethin' other than you
It's sad to say

(continued) If you're not too proud to beg
I can give you some respect
But the tune you're hummin' is never gonna change
You didn't have to do what you did, but I thank you it ended like this
'Cause the love I’ve got is better than what you gave
Well I've got girls in line, waiting for these arms of mine
Listen up, to what I say

Well I've had enough, of your tainted love, you gave me everyday
I tried doing right, through the lonely nights, but I'm done getting played
I'm not gonna make that same mistake

You've been out there fooling, but I'm not thinking about you
I've been getting a love that moves me, while you've been getting around
