Maaannn has there been a lot to adjust to moving to New York from LA!
Obviously the weather but also how you get around. In LA, everybody drives EVERYWHERE, and New York walking is definitely more than something you do to warm up for a great run! And all that walking can really make a difference in how your day goes. A couple of days ago it rained here — not just misted — I mean, poured down. I remember a time that I was like most people (who don’t live in NY) and loved rainy days. Naps, movies and good friends make the difference! But in NY you also have to walk in it.
I know what most of you are thinking — you walk outside anywhere you live when it rains. But that’s where your wrong, my friends. In LA I would say, “Wow it’s really pouring down out there!,” and rarely did it ever rain hard enough to notice.
But here, in New York, I found my self saying, “Jeez! I’m soaked, because it’s pouring down on me!” I wasn’t in my car or looking out my window at home, I was standing in it. It will take some getting used to!
Outside of the weather, I love it here. Totally different from the West Coast. And my pup, Ronan, seems to be loving it too!
