Make Back-to-School Clothes
Updated: September 30, 2008
Does the thought of a back-to-school shopping spree stress you out? We know, by the time you've agonized over what to get and wondered 'how am I going to pay for this?' the thrill of walking through the halls on the first day looking like a brand new you doesn't seem as appealing. Well check it out, we've got a way for you to update you wardrobe for FREE! The best part? No mall required because this is about hosting a "Clothes Swapping Party".
Estimated Cost: none, unless you hit the craft store for some cool accessories
Estimated Time: a couple of hours (but with friends who's counting)
What you'll need:
What's This All About?
Basically, it's about getting your friends together and having everyone bring a couple of clothing items that they're sick of and want to trade. The easiest way to trade is to do it one on one (your friend likes your last year's shorts and you like her cardigan) since that way everyone gets something new. If someone wants something of yours but you don't want anything of theirs, then you may want to just let them have (this is, after all, also about purging your closet). When you've all finished swapping, put the left-overs into a bag and plan on dropping them off at the Salvation Army.
