Thermometer Pill

Thermometer Pill

Would you rather hold a thermometer under your tongue or swallow it? NASA and Johns Hopkins University developed a pill in the late '80s called the Ingestible Thermal Monitoring System, which monitored an astronaut's body temperature during space flight and risky activities such as spacewalking. The capsule wirelessly transmits body core temperature from the inside out. Now, professional and college athletic teams use the technology to help keep players safe from heat illness.
