The Cuts: The state of Washington will face $1.3 billion in cuts to public schools and higher education. Public schools funding will decrease by $877 million.

The Effects: Central Valley School District will lose $3.4 million in funding. The school district will have to eliminate field trips, extracurricular activities, a few bus routes and 20 teaching positions, according to The Spokesman-Review, a local newspaper.
