To start, Orwell was an English author and journalist by the name of Eric Arthur Bell.Born in India, when it was under British rule, George Orwell is best known by his pen name and for his novel 1984, a work of fiction about dystopia. In fact, the phrase "Orwellian" correspondents to the destruction of society which occurs in that novel. Yet, Orwell wrote about many people, places and events throughout his life.
In addition to his fiction-writing career, he was also a journalist.
