Marching Band Goes Viral

A video game tribute put this college marching band in the spotlight.

Scott: Ohio State’s band is an Internet sensation.

Tyler York: We came off the field and they were just cheering, yelling and we all just kind of looked at each other and said, ‘you know, this was really something special.’

In October, a parent recorded Ohio State’s salute to video games and it went viral – more than 14 million hits.

After just a week of practice, the musicians learned to create formations, bringing the iconic video games like Pokémon, Tetris and PAC-MAN to life.

Jon Waters: We may not have another show in twenty years around here that has the same mass appeal that that did but we are going to sure try every game and every time we step onto that field.

Scott: I can’t wait to see what they do next year!
