For singer and actress Ashley Tisdale, it all began after she was discovered by an agent in a New Jersey mall. On her first audition, she landed a spot with JC Penny that led to 100 commercials for the clothing company throughout her childhood.

By the time she was eight years old, she was performing in Broadway plays including Les Miserables, Annie and Gypsy. After gracing the stage and developing some acting chops, Tisdale started acting in TV shows -- you probably watched her as "Maddie Fitzpatrick" on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" -- before hitting the big time on the big screen in High School Musical, which also launched her pop music career.

Tisdale was raised by her parents, Lisa and Mike Tisdale in Ocean Township, New Jersey. She has a sister named Jennifer who is also an actress. In 2007, Tisdale released her first album Headstrong and her second album, Guitly Pleasure dropped in June of 2009. Most recently, Tisdale belted out her hit from her second album, "Crank It Up" at the Latin American Music Awards in October.
