The Lee Roessler Band

Hear it Now

Pop-rock/Christian trio The Lee Roessler Band have some really specific opinions on what they like. That list includes Swedish Fish gummy candy, the food at Sonic and the next steps for their band -- they're only a few songs away from a complete recording of their album. And, they're enthusiastic about a summer-long tour that starts in just a few days (you can check out the dates on the left).

The Kentucky-based band members, who grew up across the river from Cincinnati, "just enough country and just enough city," explained Lee Roessler (lead vocals, guitar) in a phone interview, have been playing together for about two and a half years. After taking up music at around 13, they spent some time playing together as the band, Monday's Child (when, interestingly, they all played completely different instruments than they do now) before "going our separate ways and finding -- well, I found my way back" said Derek Kramer (bass, backing vocals), who also works and attends school when he's not "pursuing my passion" with the band.

After reconnecting, they produced an EP and in 2009, the band discovered they "know how to choose the right people" to help them move forward. They also credit a habit of prayer -- on the road and before shows -- with keeping them calm and strong, contributing to their success.

The guys are committed to three things: their band, faith and hard work. But is there anything else? Video games. "I'm really into NBA Live," admitted Ryan Doyle (drums). Kramer added, "being lazy" is good. "I work so much that I like to really enjoy any down time." For the band's frontman, Roessler? "I like to play Scrabble and watch movies -- 'The Goonies' is probably my favorite of all time." Appropriate, with everything falling into place, it might just be their time to discover their own hidden treasure too.
