Trevor Hall
Hear it Now
Trevor Hall has more experience since the last time we spoke to him, just after his first album was released. He even has some fun stories from the road, which he shared in a phone interview on the way from a show in Salt Lake City to another in Red Rocks, Col. Apparently on their drive up to the venue in Salt Lake, a huge crowd had gathered out front as they rolled up. They realized, getting out of the van, however, that the crowd was there for a show scheduled just before theirs. It reminded them, he shared, "to stay humble. stay humble," with a laugh.
Trevor Hall grew up playing music and writing songs after school every day in North Carolina. When he was 16-years-old he moved to California to pursue music at Idyllwild. While attending the prestigious international boarding school, he learned classical guitar skills and had "the best time of his life," playing music and meeting new people. His laid-back attitude sums up Trevor and his music quite well. His folk rock and reggae influenced tunes took on new layer -- straight from India -- with this album, Everything, Everytime, Everywhere. He took both of those things on trip to India this year, and it really influenced the album. It's interspersed with recordings of people he met while he was there. "It's really all about a journey" -- both literally and metaphorically. "The narrative came together as I was going through some struggles," he shared.
"I'm excited to see what people think. I was able to dive into genres that I've always wanted to try. At first, I was worried about whether or not they would fit, but at the end, it all came together."
