Secretary of Education Arne Duncan is a Chicago native who attended Harvard and earned a degree in sociology before playing professional basketball -- he's six foot five! -- in Australia until 1991.He met his wife there before returning to Chicago in 1992 to direct the Ariel Education Initiative, and though he has never worked as a classroom teacher, has been a part of education administration his entire career.
He spent seven years as the CEO of the Chicago Public Schools before becoming the Secretary of Education.
Secretary of Education discusses education in America, the new program, "Race to the Top," where schools will compete for $4.3 billion available for schools.
