6. You might not need that boy or girlfriend...right now

Who would have known that cute boy or girl loved everything about you? So much for studying, right? Not so fast. Think twice before you jump into a relationship right when you get to college, especially if your grades are a little shaky, since both require so much attention.

My experience: There are so many cute guys on campus-- they're such a distraction. When I'm involved with someone, I worry about my relationship as well as getting good grades, so I'm staying just friends for now.
