From Mexico to America

My name is Rafael and I'm from Mexico. I arrived in the United States on Oct. 4, 2001, and started to attend Sedgefield Middle School.

Because I didn't speak English, I didn't have anything to do. I didn't understand anything, so I spent my time drawing pictures.

A lot of the things that I drew were based on my culture. I'm proud to descend from the Aztecs--one of the first cultures in Mexico. I also drew a girl who stole my heart, but she's in Mexico. Since I came to the United States, I've been unable to see her. <
