Procession to the Capitol

Since 1837, the President and Vice-President have rode in carriages, cars or walked to the swearing-in ceremonies with their spouses and members of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC). This procession marks the beginning of the inaugural ceremonies planned by the JCCIC.
