A part of the North American Rocky Mountains Range, the Canadian Rockies border the U.S. in Idaho and Montana. The actual rock this mountain range is made up of (sedimentary) is different from the Rockies in the United States (metamorphic and igneous), giving them a different look as well as making them slightly shorter on average.
