Incas once ruled a vast part of South America stretching from Colombia to Chile, but were defeated by the Spaniards in 1533.
In a last stand, some Inca moved into the mountains where they held off invaders for nearly 40 years. The lost city of Corihuayrachina is believed to be the Inca's last holdout.
