Mr. James Jones has served his country in the military in some way his entire life. Yet, now, he's a retired U.S. Marine Corps. General serving as the National Security Advisor for the White House. At the NSA, he sits on the National Security Council and reports to the President. He works with a staff of people who research and debrief issues of national security and it is his job to manage them and their findings.

Prior to his role in the President's cabinet, Jones was the commander of NATO forces. And has worked as a security advisor in many different capacities, like his role in the Security Forces in Iraq. He is also a Vietnam veteran.

Though James Jones was born in Kansas City, Missouri, he spent most of his childhood in France where he attended the American School of Paris. In college he studied at Georgetown University where he majored in Public Policy and was a forward on their basketball team. After graduating from college, his career in the Marine Corps, which included service in Vietnam, Okinawa, Japan, and Camp Pendleton in California, amongst other duty stations, began.
