The Republic of Panama facilitates many different roles depending on who you are talking to -- international business center, transit country, tourist destination and some categorize it as a transcontinental nation because of its connection to Central and South America.

Though Panama is a small country, just a little bit smaller than the state of Maine or South Carolina, Panama has the fourth largest economy in Central America. With a recent upsurge in tourism, due to their diverse sights like white sand beaches and rain forests, Panama attracts many backpackers and surfers alike. Throughout history Panama other nations like Spain because of its location and the man-made Panama Canal, which links the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
