As the United States' 40th president, Ronald Reagan became known as the Great Communicator for his Hollywood charisma and superior TV presence. While critics decried what they called his over-delegation of responsibilities, others credit "Reaganomics" for setting the U.S. economy on an upward trend after the flat Carter years.
