Week in Rap Transcript for March 22nd, 2010

Updated: March 25, 2010

Hip-hop is not dead, it just needs some medicine
Week in Rap is back, so the doctor is in

Health reform passed! Yep it took a minute
But Democrats have numbers in the house and Senate

So they passed the bill and sent it to President
Who got to put his John Hancock all up in it

Yeah Barack Obama, he caused a lot of drama
'Cuz Republicans think this might swell the deficit

But if the law could speak, for real
It'd be like "scuse me but I'm kind of a big deal,"

The biggest law to get passed since the sixties
Who remembers that? At least a couple hippies

We polled teens on the national debt
And the number had a lot of you scratching your heads

The debt going sky high like a passenger jet
Should we stop it? That hasn't been happening yet

Oh Google's trying to change the way things work
They want to give Chinese people the freedom to search

China thinks Google has gone wrong
By switching their Chinese base to Hong Kong

They disagree like Mississippi over the prom
Where a gay girl couldn't have her date on her arm

Now Israel wants to keep building settlements
But that's protested by Palestinian residents

And now some Americans are getting involved
With tough words from Clinton giving them pause

Pause - what else?
There's other things happening affecting your health

They're gonna list the calories where you can easily see
In the hopes Americans will get less obese

And eat fewer double burgers that are covered in cheese
I got cheese in my wallet, not the kind you can eat

For all the kids struggling, going through things
Know the number one contender is not always the king

Just look at Kansas, only thing that's for sure
Week in Rap in two weeks we'll be back with some more...
