Scott: ‘Tis that time where you help us discover the next big thing with something that will help you find your way around without lifting a finger. But first, let’s see what you thought about last week’s.
We told you about Lifelog, the app that is paired with the Sony SmartBand bracelet. It tracks your activities, the movies you watch, the music you listen to, and even the time you spend on Facebook and Twitter.
So, what did you think? Is it the next big thing? Well, 41% of you said, ‘Yes, log my life!’ But 59% of you said, ‘Nah, I’m off the grid’.
If you have trouble finding your way around, you will probably like this next idea. Instead of having your face buried in your phone, staring at a map app or, even worse, pulling out a huge paper version, a new high tech jacket claims it can guide you to your destination.
Hey! Watch where you are going! That is the idea behind this navigation jacket from Wearable Experiments.
Billie Whitehouse: Navigate jacket is the urban wayfinding jacket. It’s giving your eyes back to the city. It’s an ability to walk around the city without having to look at a map. So it’s map-free travel.
Scott: The blazers communicate via Bluetooth with your phone. Enter your destination in a mobile app and let the jacket be your guide, using vibration sensors in the shoulders that tell you when to turn left and right and a countdown on your sleeve to show you how much further until you turn.
Now, Wearable Experiments is aiming for a battery life of seven hours. But there is no word yet when the jacket will be available in stores.
So, what do you think? Is the Navigation jacket the next big thing? Well, head to ChannelOne.com and vote.
