Parachute

There are few bands that live up to the color and vivacity of their band name. Yet, Parachute (not to be confused with Parachute Band) totally pulls it off. The fivesome’s carefree music will whisk you away to a fun pop-y (Jason Mraz-like) place, lightly floating over music genres in a landscape of rock, streams of soul and patches of R&B.

The origins of this fun, yet mellow pop-rock ensemble are in Charlottesville, Virginia where their┬ásong “She is Love” was used to advertise Nivea products.

In 2009, they scored a confetti-snowing concert for one million people in Times Square when the ball (and temperature) dropped in New York City for New Year’s. “I could barely hold on to my drumsticks,” laughs drummer Johnny Stubblefield. “The guys were struggling with their fingertips, but it was so worth it.”

Parachute was the number one download on iTunes when they released their debut album Losing Sleep. I guess I’m not the only one who’s into these guys.

Check them out! We’ve got tracks, photos and an exclusive interview for you.
