Passport: Yemen


The country of Yemen, which lies on the tip of the Arabian peninsula between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, has been coping with widespread protests over the past two months. Demonstrators calling for the resignation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh were partially satisfied on Sunday after the President, who has been power for 32 years, agreed to step down.

Questions remain, however, over how long it will take Saleh to relinquish power and over whether he or his family will strand trial for killings that have taken place during the current upheaval.
