Post-Recession Spending

The American economy is just coming out of a recession that caused hundreds of thousands to lose their jobs and homes. And even those who were able to hold on to a job or didn’t have a risky mortgage felt the economic distress that came with the longest recession since the Great Depression.

One good point of the recession, however, many economists have pointed out, is that tough times often encourage people to save money instead of spending it, which is a good thing because it enables people to buy homes, save for retirement or simply prepare for a rainy day — like another recession.

We want to know, have you changed your spending behavior because of the recession? Vote in the poll below and leave a comment to tell us what you think.
