About the Author
Geraldine McCaughrean was born in London on June 6, 1951. She worked in magazine publishing for 10 years before becoming a full-time writer. She has written more than 140 books and won numerous awards, including the Printz Award for The White Darkness.
McCaughrean now lives in Berkshire, in the U.K., with her husband John, her daughter Ailsa and her Golden Retriever Daisy.
