The Obama administration has created a new healthcare plan: The Affordable Health Care Act.

Despite the controversy surrounding the declaration, there are several benefits for young Americans. Before the Affordable Health Care Act, many young adults who left home due to college lost health care through their parents’ plan.

Insurance offered by colleges is minimal and expensive for most students. However, with the new act, young adults can remain on their parents’ health care plan until their 26th birthday.

This means, that a student who chooses to attend professional or graduate school can remain on his or her parent’s plan.
