Jessica: This week we are talking about — get this– a throwable ball camera! Designed by a recent grad in Germany, this ball camera has got everyone seeing sights like never before.
Jonas Pfeil says the idea for his new camera came to him while he was hiking in the South Pacific. He wanted to get the perfect shot, so he came up with this idea.
Jonas Pfeil: I had the idea to just throw something up and capture the panoramic view instantaneously.
Jessica: The ball camera is kind of like a soccer ball with cameras all around it. All you have to do is throw it in the air and let it do the work for you. Oh, but don’t forget to catch it!
Once you have thrown the ball in the air, for a split second, it is stationary, and in that moment the camera is able to capture the complete scene from all angles and directions — otherwise known as a panoramic picture.
For now, the ball camera is in the testing phase but Pfeil says he plans to have his camera on shelves soon.
So is the ball camera the next big thing?
