Scott: So, you have already heard that big TVs are all the rage at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. But smartphones are really big as well. And here is a new product that Maggie didn’t tell you about. And it just might change the way you look at phones forever.
There is a new type of technology that relies on organic light-emitting diodes, or OLEDs for short. And OLEDs are creating a new way to see things…literally.
These screens aren’t fragile like normal screens because they are actually not made of glass. OLEDs are thin and can be put onto materials such as plastic. That means they can be both flexible and durable.
Samsung, LG and Nokia have all been working on OLED screen prototypes, which Samsung showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show.
