The NBT: Luci Light

Shelby: This week, imagine lighting up a room with a few puffs of breath and the power of the sun. It is an inflatable LED solar lamp called Luci, a light, waterproof beach ball-like device that would be handy during a blackout, or if you are just up for camping under the stars. On the bottom, there is a solar cell powered by sunlight. Charge it for a few hours and you will get up to twelve hours of bright light. And Luci can hold a charge for up to three months.

The company says it is planning a “buy-one-give-one” social campaign. Buy one and a second one will be donated to countries where electricity is hard to come by.
