Julian: Look up at night and what do you see? Stars or maybe a planet? Ever wanted to take a closer look, but you just don’t have a telescope? Well, a group called Slooh may have the answers to your starry-eyed dreams.
Imagine requesting your very own full color image of Jupiter. Or a picture of a distant galaxy, or a bright nebula. There will soon be an app for that.
The new app lets you choose a celestial body for their telescopes to photograph from your own device like an iPad or Android phone.
The app will send a signal to the Slooh Space Camera and the image gets sent to you and automatically fills your sky. While the app itself will be free, there’ll be a charge for creating an image with a wait time of no more than twenty minutes.
• Is an app that provides you with your own images of celestial bodies the next big thing?
