The NBT: Plantable Paper

Transcript

Maggie: We are keeping our going green theme, well, growing with this week’s Next Big Thing. But first, let’s see what you thought about last week’s idea.

We told you about an app called txt-book that lets you convert all your text message conversations into a creative, personalized book. So, is it the next big thing? Forty-eight percent of you said, ‘Yes, I love it!’ But fifty-two percent of you said, ‘No. Sad face’.

Today’s Next Big Thing might just be the perfect way to finish off Earth Week and make your life a little greener.

Don’t chuck this paper into the garbage. Put it in the ground. Yep, it is plantable paper. Cards and paper products containing seeds that grow once planted. You can choose paper made with seeds from wildflowers, herbs, even vegetables.

After you have used the paper then you just bury your card in dirt like regular seeds, keep it moist and watch as the plants sprout. In four to six weeks, you will be that much more green.

So is plantable paper the next big thing? Head on over to ChannelOne.com and plant your vote!

That is a good way to also nourish plants, since paper is made from trees, it contains nutrients needed to grow, too. Meaning a green thumb is not as required. I vote this up!
