The Play of the Week

Danica Patrick qualified for the top spot in NASCAR's most famous race.

And even though it is not Monday, it is still the beginning of the week. So, we decided on a special Play of the Week. And while it wasn’t submitted by you guys, this play broke a new barrier in NASCAR.

Clocking just over 196 miles per hour, Danica Patrick beat out 37 other drivers to become the first woman to ever win pole position for the Daytona 500, qualifying for the number one spot in NASCAR’s most famous race.

Patrick has made history before as the first woman to lead laps in the Indianapolis 500 and the only woman to have ever won an IndyCar race.

The Daytona 500 is on Sunday.
