Where are you from and what was it like growing up there?
Stephen: "Phoenix, AZ. It was great, always a lot to do, always great weather. I guess the only downfall was never getting to experience winter."
Jess: "I was born in Virginia and lived there until I was eight. From what I can actually remember about it, I loved it there. I have since lived in Arizona and don't think I would ever want to live anywhere else."
Josh: "I'm from Scottsdale, AZ. It was a wonderful place to develop as a child."
Brian: "I was born right outside of Detroit, Michigan and lived there until I was eight-years-old, I then moved to Cave Creek, Arizona, went through school there, and still live there today when I'm not touring. Cave Creek was the best place to grow up and go through high school. It's a small town and everyone knew each other. It was like one big family."
When did you first know that you wanted to be a musician and how did you get started?
Stephen: "When I was 14 I started getting into the idea of being in a band, it grew from there. I started by messing around on an old acoustic that was laying in my house. I just learned covers and eventually made an effort to write some songs."
Jess: "The first time I ever thought about being in a band was in third grade. My best friend and I were listening to the band BBMak, and we decided that when we grew up, we were determined to start a band together and make it our careers. Obviously it didn't work out exactly that way, but since my dad and my older brother were drummers I was forced into drumming and got started that way. "
Josh:" My dad used to play in bands and I basically came out of the womb with a guitar because of him."
Brian: "I've always been in love with music and started playing drums in middle school. It wasn't until I was 16 when I started singing at local acoustic coffee shop events. I've been addicted ever since."
If you could tour with any two musicians or bands in the world, which ones would you choose?
Stephen: "Jimmy Eat World or Taylor Swift, two very different artists for two very different reasons."
Jess: That's tough, there are so many amazing bands/musicians I look up to and would love to tour with. I guess I would say Taylor Swift because she is one of my favorites right now, and it would be great to tour with another girl. I would also have to go with Third Eye Blind since they are my favorite band."
Josh:" Everclear right after So Much For The Afterglow came out. And Casino." Brian: "Right now my dream tour would be with Fun and Taylor Swift. That would be incredible."
Do you have any special pre-performance rituals?
Stephen: "I wish, I got nothin'."
Jess: "Personally, I have to drink one sugar-free Redbull at least an hour before our set and I have to stretch."
Josh: "Stretching and medicine ball training."
Brian: "Not really. I just make sure my voice is warmed up and that I'm relaxed. I like to stretch too."
What's your favorite candy?
Stephen: "Reeses, anything Reeses."
Jess: "Peanut M&M's."
Josh: "I can't eat very much candy because I'm vegan. Plus it gives you cavities."
Brian: "I'm not a big fan of candy, but I love peanut butter M&M's"
What do you do for fun?
Stephen:" My whole life is pretty fun, I live for fun, it hasn't gotten old yet, I hope it never does."
Jess: "I love catching up on movies and TV shows online. I am also really into sports so any type of physical activity I get to do on tour I consider fun."
Josh: "Read books, watch HBO series on the reg."
Brian: "When I'm not on tour I like to play golf, hang out with old friends, watch hockey, and see movies. I'm a pretty normal dude."
What's next for you?
Stephen: "I'm going to Disneyland."
Jess: "A full year of touring in 2010... we already have some great tours lined up and hopefully more to come to keep us out on the road all year!"
Josh: "Touring until I die."
Brian: "Well, we just released our first record called Love Like This, so we're gonna be on tour all of 2010 in support of that. It's gonna be an awesome year and we'll see what comes next. Come check us out when we're in your city!"
