Trevor Hall

Trevor Hall has more experience since the last time we spoke to him, just after his first album was released. He even has some fun stories from the road, which he shared in a phone interview on the way from a show in Salt Lake City to another in Red Rocks, Col. Apparently on their drive up to the venue in Salt Lake, a huge crowd had gathered out front as they rolled up. They realized, getting out of the van, however, that the crowd was there for a show scheduled just before theirs. It reminded them, he shared, “to stay humble. stay humble,” with a laugh.

Trevor Hall grew up playing music and writing songs after school every day in North Carolina. When he was 16-years-old he moved to California to pursue music at Idyllwild. While attending the prestigious international boarding school, he learned classical guitar skills and had “the best time of his life,” playing music and meeting new people. His laid-back attitude sums up Trevor and his music quite well. His folk rock and reggae influenced tunes took on new layer — straight from India — with this album, Everything, Everytime, Everywhere. He took both of those things on trip to India this year, and it really influenced the album. It’s interspersed with recordings of people he met while he was there. “It’s really all about a journey” — both literally and metaphorically. “The narrative came together as I was going through some struggles,” he shared.

“I’m excited to see what people think. I was able to dive into genres that I’ve always wanted to try. At first, I was worried about whether or not they would fit, but at the end, it all came together.” To hear tracks from the new album, watch videos from it, or hear Trevor Hall play live in the Channel One studio, and for your free music lesson from the guitarist himself, watch the videos below.

"Brand New Day" Lyrics: Don't fall asleep in your soul
Come up above from below
Wipe the sleep from youre eyes
Oh, my, my!
Shake the dust of your hands
And come run free on this land
If you wanna survive!
It's time to wake up and sing
It's time to wake up and sing
It's time to wake up and sing
Put the crown on the king
Put the crown on the king
Live your life

Come rise up, Come give love,
What you waiting for?
All I know
Is here in now
What you waiting for?
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
It's a brand new day!
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Let's go it's a brand new day!

Now fallen soldiers arise
Lift your hands to the skys
I tell you Momma's alive
Lift up your love to the sky
This guy don't question why
This strength is of another kind
Don't look around jjust look inside

We gonna wake up and sing,
We gonna wake up and sing
We gonna wake up and sing
Put the crown on the king
Put the crown on the king
It's your life

Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
It's your brand new day!
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Let's go it's a brand new day!

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

"Te Amo" Lyrics: Well I been trying to meet you baby
I been trying to seek your lovely
Tell me where you come from darling
Tell me where you run to honey
I am only here to listen
I am only here to fear
Tell me everything about you
Tell me about all the hearts you steal
Fire is burning round me
Are you gonna burn with me too
'Cause I don't really want this life
All I really want is you
Are you gonna take me up there
Are you gonna help me see
Are you gonna live this madness or are you going to be with me

So shall I run
Or shall I fall, shall I fall for you
I'll burn it down, I'll sell it all, I'll set it all for you
Well tell me mama am I dreamin'
Or am I too deep in sleep
All of my friends have told me a woman makes a man's heart weep
But I don't really want to listen
I don't believe what they say
I want to be your shelter and I want you to shelter me
When we're in a town or city,
It all starts to seem unsafe
Without you in my heart,
I'm a cold man I have to say
Living my life in shadows
I don't know what this all means
But I am a seeker and I'm seeking you to rescue me

So shall I run
Or shall I fall, shall I fall for you
I'll burn it down, I'll sell it all, I'll set it all for you
So shall I run
Or shall I fall, shall I fall for you
I'll burn it down, I'll sell it all, I'll set it all for you
