Unlock Your Heart

Just like everyone has a unique fingerprint, every also has a unique heartbeat (sounds kind of romantic, right?). A new gadget uses technology to take advantage of your heart-print to serve as a key to all your technology. Which is big news if you’re someone who struggles with remembering the bajillion passwords that everyone has.

The Nymi uses an ECG (electrocardiography) sensor in a bracelet you wear on your wrist. If you’re not the person wearing the bracelet, the wristband will lockdown, as will your devices. Though this does kind of leave us wondering what happens if someone needs to borrow your phone, the idea of forgetting all the passwords we’re always trying to remember IS pretty appealing.

So what do you think? Vote in the poll now and tell us if you’re ready for a heartbeat password to be the next big thing!

Not everyone wants to wear a wristband all the time. It would be easy to lose, and if you lose it, you won’t be able to access your phone.

I think putting it on your wrist is the best place for it. I use a watch all of the time and I have never lost it. I suppose to Nymi is easy to wear just like a watch. And if you lose it I think you can still unlock your phone.

I agree. Also, when you exercise you’re heart pumps faster so your wrist band won’t recognize the heart beat and won’t turn on tablets, phones,iPods, and other things that require passwords.

I don’t know about it. People are right, not everyone wears wrist bands. It also looks like it could be dangerous. You never know what it could unlock when your walking past something.

Well, it could be good. But what if the person’s heartbeat rose because of something that scared them? How would they get in,to their computer then?

We had a class vote. Some voted yes but the majority voted no. Those with the yes votes were glad to see the majority go to yes. Some were afraid of password complications and some thought it would be good for those who can’t remember passwords and thought it would be cool.

I think these should be the next big thing because I have a lot of passwords and some of them I forget. So count my password. :D

This is so weird! The only bad thing is if you loose it you would be locked out of everything. Especially since they would be easy to loose.

I think yes because it would save trees! Also it could make life easier! If you dont like wearing wrist bands they should also make a necklace! :) I hope you vote yes!

What if your heartbeat changes or if the nymi runs out of battery? then you will be unable to access all of your things.

I think this would be awesome. Yeah you might lose it, but my passwords are usually easy to remember so that wouldn’t be a problem. But, the band would make life a WHOLE lot easier for people, especially if they forget their passwords frequently.

What if something happens to your health or something else happens that makes your heart beat differently and you need to buy something to help it? You wouldn’t be able to access your account.

I honestly don’t like the idea… I think that it is to complicated. like what happens when you already have an account on some site and you can’t load it on to the bracelet, or can you make social networks?

I think it’s a good idea because so I don’t get locked out of my IPOD. Plus you don’t have to wear it all the time. Also no inturdeers.

I think it’s a good idea because, you don’t have to wear it all the time. It’s also a bad thing because if you have a heart attack when you’re trying to type it in then what’s going to happen???? :)

I think it’s stupid because a lot of people are excited, nervous, anxious, or just got done exercising! This will cause you to be locked of your phone forevaa!!

People like to wair wristbands so they would want to wair this and who wouldn’t want a bracelet that unlocks your phone or car just by being near it. Or that remembers your passwords.
    I would get one.

I think it’s not the next big thing because it’s as easy as 1,2,3,4 just to type In a password to get into your devices.

  26. Molly Adams

I think this is the next big thing because I forget my pass word all the time and nobody has the same heartbeat as you so nobody can unlock your personal information and your devices.

I don’t think it is the next big thing, because if someone wants to know your password they might kidnap you just for your password. It seens like the wristband is dangerous to anyone who has.

This is pretty cool, and would help me log into my mac, phone, and Gmail without touching a button. Best of all, I could make any online games i make use Nymi to unlock your account!

It could very be the next big thing, it is very unique, my only question, what if someone has a heartattack or something related and their heart beat to irregular than the band knows

i will really love to have this.this will be really helpful.its better to have this because if u don’t remember ur password u can use this.people who say no are people who are hipsters and old people that don’t believe in technology or the next big thing.

i really think this will be the next big thing. the only thing is that some people like hipsters and old people that don’t believe in technology will dislike this.i have a lot of passwords and sometimes i forget and you waste your time going to the forgot your password thing i rather have this it is easy and it doesn’t waste your time.

I think the wrist band is really cool because I don’t like typing but also it is true that if your heartbeat changes then u will not be able to unlock things so I am in the middle I say yea and no but mostly yes

I do not think its the next big because what if you loose your bracelet then you loose all of the things you used that bracelet for the password.

why would someone want to wear a wrist band all the time. Also it said that if you get close to the electronic device it automatically unlocks so someone could have taken your phone and get close to you so it unlocks and that person has access to all of your personal info.

I think that the wristband is good and bad. It’s good because a lot of people do forget passwords, but what if you lost the wristband? Also, the world is too caught up in technology, if we can’t rely on our minds, what can we rely on?

no because you might loose it when you take it off so you cant unlock anything plus if someone brakes into your house what are you going to do? hide till they find you and then your dead? your fingerprint will change in life ? what happens if someone steals it? it should have a chip that you can track and call it so you can find it and it doesn’t. that’s why

I think it’s a cool thing because no one can get in your device. If it doesn’t work the first time it should let you type your password in. What if your stressed out and your blood pressure goes up?

A wristband can be lost easily if someone puts it off. Also, if the password can be easy to remember, such as “password”, “123456″, and “qwerty” can easily be stolen, because someone may wear it in public. So, this is definitely not the Next Big Thing. Also, the passwords I shown as examples are not my real passwords, and I also don’t want to share my password, not even my friends.

The Nymi is the next big thing! It is very easy to use and i know from school to instagram all my passwords are hard to keep up with. With the nymi i think once people start to see that it works everyone will have one.

Not everyone loves to wear things on their wrists, although I do. Even if I like to wear bracelets and watches and that sort of thing, I wouldn’t very much appreciate the knowledge of having to wear my password with me. I lose things all the time, as does many other people, and knowing that my passwords our with someone else doesn’t make me happy; even if they can’t access my accounts without my heartbeat.

I think it’s a good idea, but you could lose the wristband or it might not read your heartbeat the same as it did the first time. I’ve heard of a fingerprint password app for your phone, but it might have flaws as well.

Yes because if you are in some sort of danger and you forgot your password to your phone so u can’t call 911 but with this you can just put down your finger so its quicker and easier and it makes it safer to
