Remember when we told you about advances in 3D printers a few weeks ago? This new idea is actually manufactured using one, so it’s a great example of an idea becoming something more practical.
This week we’re talking about a “throwable panoramic camera ball” (aptly named, I think). The idea is that 36 cell phone cameras are built into something about the size and shape of a soccer ball. When you see a shot you want, you toss the ball in the air and at one point during travel, the ball becomes nearly stationary. That’s when the cameras take a picture.
You can then upload the pics to your PC and use an application to check out your shots. For the most part, we think this idea is great, but we have to admit that a camera the size of a soccer ball might be bit unwieldy when traveling. But what do you think? Vote in the poll and tell us if new idea in photography is the next big thing.
