Staying fit in space is one of the most important tasks for an astronaut! There is zero gravity in space, meaning your body doesn’t have to work against anything. You can lose muscle strength and mass, and your bones can lose 2 percent of their density per month, meaning they are easier to break. I had the opportunity to do a grueling space workout at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. I had trouble walking after this one.
