Latin American Studies Unit Lesson Plan

By Cari Jackson 08.28.2017 blog

Channel One News has gathered some of its best content about Latin America from recent years to create a four-week-long short course, or unit lesson plan. Available to subscribers only, these videos and lesson plans introduce students to various Latin American cultures, geography, history and geopolitical issues. The unit outlines the history of U.S. relations and influence across Latin America, and ties this history to young people’s lives today.

Get to know the Aztecs, Frida Kahlo, Cesar Chavez, and Latino immigrants in America. Take a closer look at Cuba, Panama, Honduras, and Mexico — and awe-inspiring sites, like the Panama Canal and the Mesoamerican Coral Reef. Recommended for grades 6–12.
