Did you know the things you love – from the bracelets on your wrist to the Instagram app on your iPhone – are created through code? Cool, right?
Despite the fact that coding creates so much of the world around us, less than 1% of girls are majoring in computer science. Not so cool.
Google is trying to change all that. This week, the company launched a new initiative called Made With Code, focused on getting girls excited about a career in computer programming. The ultimate goal of the program is to close the gender gap in the technology space.
Visit MadeWithCode.com to create fun projects using code, like building bracelets and making GIFs, and to learn more about a future in coding.
