Ever wonder what it would be like to step inside of a painting? We’ve seen it happen in movies. But now, it’s a reality. Virtual reality, that is. And with the Tilt Brush app by Google, getting immersed in your work is taking on a whole new meaning.
It may sound surreal and complicated, but so far, the consensus is that even someone with no gaming or virtual reality experience can create unbelievable artwork in a matter of seconds, and learn as they go. With an HTC Vive virtual reality headset and digital brush, users of all ages can easily create life-sized, 3-dimensional paintings, sculptures and art installations in the air and space all around them. The possibilities are literally endless with this innovative, intuitive technology, and as artist and Tilt Brush collaborator Dustin Yellin told the New York Times, “this is going to get bananas.”
“Playing with fire” is A-ok in this virtual art world, and no clean-up’s necessary with countless color options on the virtual palette. No more stocking up on art supplies either, as it comes with all your standard virtual brushes along with strokes such as clouds, sun and stars. And with options for painting fabric textures like leather and silk, we may just see the Tilt Brush on the next season of Project Runway!

Yes because the tilt brush looks really cool to use. The only down side is it probably really expensive.
