Are you ready to work for your dinner? That’s the idea behind Japanese restaurant Zauo, where visitors are encouraged to fish for their own meal. Though there are many restaurants where you can choose your fish from a tank, Zauo is the first to offer patrons a fishing rod (and bait!) to catch their own.
After you catch the fish, the chefs at Zauo will prepare the fish one of four ways: as sashimi, sushi, fried or grilled. The creators believe that catching your own fish is not only an exciting way to enjoy a meal, but also teaches buyers an important lesson about where food comes from. There are already several Zauo locations in Japan, and they’re planning to open their first U.S. store in NYC.
So what do you think? Could catch and eat dining be the next big thing? Vote and share your thoughts in the comments!
