If you’re creative, you can probably take care of many of your daily needs with freecycling. But if you’re willing to take it a step further, you can not only make the most of the things that you find, but you can also turn them into a business.

That’s the idea behind Bureo. Founded by three entrepreneurs living in Chile, the company takes old fishing nets and turns them into skateboards — literally turning trash into treasure. And when you consider the effect that waste in the ocean, including fishing nets, has on the water and the creatures living in it, it’s really nothing but good news. The boards are available through a Kickstarter project for now, and the company founders say the skateboards are just the start of their sustainability projects.

So are Bureo boards the best way to get around town? Vote in the poll and tell us what you think in the comments.
