It’s a classic summer story: You’re psyched for a day at the beach or out on the lake with your friends. You take that advice you’ve heard time and again, and make sure to slather on plenty of sunscreen before heading out the door. But as the hours tick by, and you soak up all that swimming and fun in the sun, you realize you’ve forgotten to reapply the ever-important SPF. And you get burned.
You may think sunburns are NBD, but according to the Surgeon General, they are “a clear sign of overexposure to UV (ultraviolet) rays, a major cause of skin cancer.” That’s why it’s so important to keep putting on sunscreen at least every two hours while out in the sun, and after swimming or sweating.
But don’t sweat it. The sun’ll come out tomorrow. And now with the invention of the sunscreen booth, you can easily and accurately reapply your SPF without the hassle in just 10 seconds.
The idea came to life when SnappyScreen founder Kristen McClellan was a freshman at Cornell University. She pitched the idea of a touchless sunscreen application system to her school’s business incubator, received solid support and designed a prototype. You just step into the booth and enter your height and preferred SPF level of 15, 30 or 40. Then it rotates you through a evenly applied mist of sunscreen in a snap and you’re ready to hit the water again.
So would you ever use a sunscreen booth? Think it should be a boardwalk staple? Vote and tell us what you think — you can even submit video comments to email@example.com. We will feature the results of the poll and some of your comments on the show!
I think it will be the next big thing, because people don´t like to spend a lot of time applying sunscreen, and with one of these, it will be fast and easy.
Yes I do agree that it would cost too much, but we all know that after a couple months there going to be fine it will work out soon enough.
I think that this technology can help us do things like automatic fire extinguisher.
this has its pros and its cons.
I think this should be the next thing because it would be easier than applying it yourself or having somebody else apply it for u
This should not be the next big thing because it could get in your eyes and infect them it could also mouthfunction
I think it is amazing because instead of going to the store you can just go to the booth and get some sunscreen and you are good to go. i say yes count me in
Yes becues it is cool and you could say that it has your back
“I do not think its a good idea for a sunscreen booth. Because what if you have to pay more money then one bottle that can last a lot more than 1 time. Its too much. And for the government to pay for EVERY BEACH!,”
i do not want to vote for this because thats just bad
it may hurt you so don´t do it
yes, it is going to be at every beach soon and once its there it will never die down and its a great idea!
Ya! Its great many people people me don’t care to put on sunscreen, but with thus I wood actually enjoy it!
Yes, because many people alike me when the are swimming don’t care to put on sunscreen every hour. But with a sunscreen booth kids would enjoy it and have a lot of fun in it.
What if your allergic to one of the ingredients in the type of sunscreen the booth uses? What do you do then?
I don’t think sunscreen booths are the Next Big Thing because it seems like they don’t spray out enough sunscreen to fully protect you from the sun.
No way that can be the next big thing, plus what that sunscreen gets in your mouth and hair. Also what is someone broke in the system at night and put a some sort of poison. Any way THE DAB WELL ALWAYS BE THE THING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES! Some people even me are too lazy to put on sunscreen and getting the consequences that go with it. This will help so many people not get skin cancer.
They are the next big thing because this would make it easier to get your sunscreen on and you would get full coverage
Sunscreen boths not only seem expensive but dangerous, imagine being sprayed down and then your child gets in and is doddling around and had her mouth and eyes open and hot harmfully sprayed. Plus would you want to pay $3 for one spray, you could get 40+ sprays for 7 dollars. Just my thoughts.
I believe that a sunscreen booth can be a next big thing because everybody that I know and most people would rather pay for sunscreen and being safe then being in the hospital with severe skin cancer
I think it is a good idea. Spray me down.
Yes because the booth may be pricey but I think that all of would rather be paying for sunscreen than having to pay for a skin cancer treatment
