The Apple Watch has been on the market since this spring, and over the past few months the number of available apps has skyrocketed. Many popular apps for the iPhone have been adapted to work on the Apple Watch. Some apps on the iPhone connect to the Apple Watch.

If you’re exploring ways to integrate wearable technology into your everyday routine, here’s a list of some noteworthy apps for the Apple Watch:

This app gives users a quick way to log their water intake — and for teachers sprinting through a typical day, reminders to get water are key! The iPhone app lets you set goals for how much water you would like to drink during the day and reminders will come through on your Apple Watch. The Apple Watch app makes it easy to tap the amount of ounces in your current drink to add it to your daily log.

Just like the digital wristwatches of yore, the Apple Watch includes a clock, timer and alarm. You can set a timer to go off in a certain number of minutes or keep track of how long something takes. When the sound is turned off on your Apple Watch you can feel the timer finish or alarm ring through vibrations on your wrist.

If you’ve tried Shazam on your iPhone, you know this app uses the speaker to listen to music playing in order to identify the name of the song. This app also works on the Apple Watch and lets you find out the title of a mystery tune when you’re on the go.

New York Times

The New York Times iPhone app gives users access to a few articles for free each month. The app of the Apple Watch lets you swipe through a few headlines and receive alerts for breaking news stories.

The ESPN app for Apple Watch provides information on game scores in the quick glance section of the Apple Watch screen. If you’ve set up alerts on your iPhone for favorite teams or general news updates the notifications will come through on your Apple Watch.

The Centered app was designed for users to check in on their mindfulness. The Centered app for Apple Watch includes reminders to stay calm and centered throughout the day.

The Phone app is built in to the Apple Watch and recalls the visions of sci-fi writers from yesteryear.  Since the Apple Watch connects to your iPhone using BlueTooth technology, if you receive a phone call on your iPhone you can answer it on your Apple Watch. With a tap of the Apple Watch screen you can hear the voice on the other end of the call and you can use your Apple Watch like a speaker phone.

I think an Apple watch is a good idea for some people who might be busy a lot. The Apple watch well also good if you don’t have any room for a phone in your pocket. It will also have many of the apps the iPhone has.

The Apple Watch is a great product! It has the clock, etc. and it helps elders who can’t really see well, they just tap the watch and the clock is shown!
