Impact: Join the “Feeding Better Futures” Campaign

According to research by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 30 to 40 percent of the food supply in the United States goes to waste! The USDA also alerts that food waste is the single largest component going into municipal landfills.

DoSomething.org is on a mission to change that. The organization has launched a new campaign called Feeding Better Futures.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Take pictures of problems related to our food system in your communities.
  2. Go to the Feeding Better Futures and upload the photos with your proposed resolutions or text FOOD to 38383.

Make your submissions by February 28th for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship for college or a $50,000 grant to take your food and sustainability initiative to the next level!

I think that really anything you do waste is a waste and if you have left overs take it to church or even better take care of the people that need it the most because they matter to people like the poor who cant afford a meal, Or the homeless who have nothing, or the orphan kids that are barely being fed because the orphanage has no money so they only get small amounts take care of other better than you do you because those people matter just the same as you. Thank you!

I went to a camp for school where we set a “wasted food goal” each meal and measured it in a bucket.
